RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-506

A resolution authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept the sum of eighty-eight thousand, seven hundred and sixty-three dollars and eighty-four cents ($88,763.84) from the Commonwealth of Kentucky for settlement of a lawsuit brought to recover the expenses incurred by the Metropolitan Government detaining prisoner Edward Rabie while he fought his extradition to Kentucky.

Whereas, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has agreed to pay eighty-eight thousand, seven hundred and sixty-three dollars and eighty-four cents ($88,763.84) to the Metropolitan Government to reimburse the extraordinary costs incurred in detaining prisoner Edward Rabie while he fought his extradition to Kentucky; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government to accept this settlement in resolution of this lawsuit.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the sum of eighty-eight thousand, seven hundred and sixty-three dollars and eighty-four cents ($88,763.84) shall be accepted by the Metropolitan Government from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in resolution and settlement of this lawsuit.

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
