RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-493
A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Transit Authority to consider further reducing or eliminating bus fares for senior citizens.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transit Authority presently has a reduced rate structure for senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate for the Metropolitan Transit Authority to consider a further reduction of this rate or completely eliminating it to assist senior citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Transit Authority to consider further reducing or eliminating bus fares for senior citizens.
SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
