RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-486

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services, has awarded a one-year Grant commencing in fiscal year 1999 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program Services and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (No. BL2000-321); and

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee wishes to extend the duration of the grant to February 28, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2000-321 provided that amendments to the Grant may be approved by Resolution by the Metropolitan Council;

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.

NOW, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Amendment to Grant No. GG-00-08753-00 by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program Services which amendment extends the grant to February 28, 2001, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
