RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-467

A resolution recognizing the 2000 Nashville Electric Service President's Award recipients.

WHEREAS, Nashville Electric Service and CEO Don Kohanski, presented six NES employees with the President's Award for the year 2000 during a banquet in the employees' honor on Monday, October 30, 2000; and

WHEREAS, the recipients of this year's awards were, Amanda Craig, Tony Viglietti, R.T. Johnson, John Buchanan, Terry Hutton, and Troy Davis; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Craig received her award in the Customer Service Category for her work in helping NES meet Y2K compliance goals; Mr. Viglietti in the Business Expansion Category for his assistance with MDHA in their efforts to revitalize low income housing; Mr. Johnson, Mr. Buchanan, and Mr. Hutton for developing a latching mechanism for high-mast interstate lighting that allowed NES to lower lights for repairs; Mr. Davis for suggesting NES to change the policy concerning sale of transformers which resulted in a substantial savings; and

WHEREAS, these employees of the Nashville Electric Service, have demonstrated true concern and commitment to bettering both Nashville Electric Service and the community in which they live; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes each of the Nashville Electric 2000 President's Award winner.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2000 Nashville Electric Service President's Award recipients.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of the Resolution to each recipient of the Nashville Electric Service President's Award.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
