RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-96
A resolution honoring F. Clay Bailey, Jr.
WHEREAS, F. Clay Bailey, Jr., is an attorney with Tune, Entrekin and White Law Firm; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bailey was originally appointed to the Civil Service Commission on February 10, 1965 by Mayor Beverly Briley; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bailey served under a total of five Mayoral administrations; and
WHEREAS, as a representative of the legal community, he has provided legal guidance to the Commission since 1965, and served as the Administrative Law Judge on full hearings before the Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bailey has served as Chairman of the Commission since 1989; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bailey served a total of thirty-five years as Civil Service Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bailey has worked continuously to assist in the development of Civil Service Rules and Policies for the betterment of the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize F. Clay Bailey, Jr., for his many contributions to Nashville.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as honoring F. Clay Bailey, Jr.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to F. Clay Bailey, Jr., for this honor.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
