RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-449
A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Board of Public Education to acquire all of the property behind Hume Fogg High School for future educational uses.
WHEREAS, Hume Fogg High School is in need of additional space for parking and other facilities; and
WHEREAS, although located in downtown Nashville, it presently appears that a number of properties behind Hume Fogg High School are vacant or are under-utilized economically; and
WHEREAS, it may be appropriate at this time to acquire all of these properties to assist in future development of Hume Fogg High School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Board of Public Education to acquire all of the property behind Hume Fogg High School for future educational uses.
SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Metropolitan Board of Public Education.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Mr. President:
I move to amend Resolution No. RS2000-449 by deleting the phrase "to aquire" wherein it appears in the caption and in Section 1 thereof, and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase "to determine the cost of acquiring."
