RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-435

A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Planning Commission, the Metropolitan Codes Administration Department, the Division of Affordable Housing, and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to inventory all vacant and/or condemned properties located within the 19th Councilmanic District and to make a recommendation to the Metropolitan Council as to what action should take place for each of these subject properties.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Planning Commission, the Metropolitan Codes Administration Department, the Division of Affordable Housing, and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to inventory all vacant and/or condemned properties located within the 19th Councilmanic District and to make a recommendation to the Metropolitan Council as to what action should take place for each of these subject properties.

SECTION 2. The Council further requests that each of these departments, commissions or agencies identify the properties that are adjacent to each of the vacant and/or condemned properties, including the zoning district of each subject property; and further, that the departments, commissions or agencies prioritize each of the subject properties as to its perspective appropriate future use; and, that the Metropolitan Planning Commission make recommendations as to what action should be necessary on each of these properties to make it viable and habitable.

SECTION 3. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the directors of the Planning Commission, the Codes Administration Department, the Division of Affordable Housing, and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency.

SECTION 4. That the Planning Commission, the Codes Administration Department, the Division of Affordable Housing, and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency are further requested to inform The Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 thereof, not later than sixty (60) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 5. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
