RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-430

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claim of Mary Moody against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for an amount not to exceed $10,500.00 and directing that this amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability Account.

Whereas, on November 20, 1999, Charles Hardy, an employee of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Fire Department, while operating a vehicle owned by the Metropolitan Government was involved in an accident which caused damage to claimant's property; and,

Whereas, after investigation and discovery, the Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government, and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled for an amount not to exceed $10,500.00, and that this amount be paid from the Self Insured Liability Account.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Mary Moody in an amount not to exceed $10,500.00, and that said amount shall be paid from the Self Insured Liability Account.

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
