RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-415

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant between The State of Tennessee, Department of Labor to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Families First Employment and Training Services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed one million dollars ($1,000,000) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Families First Employment and Training Services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center and said grant was accepted by ordinance (Ordinance No. BL2000-386); and

Whereas, said grant needs to be amended to increase the total compensation by five million four hundred fifteen thousand three hundred fifty nine dollars ($5,415,359); and

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2000-386 provided that amendments to the grant may be approved by Resolution by the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes;

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the grant be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Families First Employment and Training Services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, increasing the total compensation by five million four hundred fifteen thousand three hundred fifty nine dollars ($5,415,359), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
