RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-413

A resolution appropriating $250,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for infrastructure, site, and community development improvements, including acquisition, in the Preston Taylor Neighborhood Strategy Area.

WHEREAS, the application for the twenty-sixth year of the Community Development Block Grant program was approved by the Metropolitan Council through Ordinance No. O99-69; and

WHEREAS, the application for the twenty-sixth year included funds allocated to the Preston Taylor Neighborhood Strategy Area to complement the revitalization of Preston Taylor Homes; and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded a $35 million HOPE VI grant for the revitalization of the Preston Taylor community;

WHEREAS, design plans for said improvements are on file with the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That $250,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated to the Preston Taylor Neighborhood Strategy Area be appropriated for infrastructure, site, and community development improvements, including acquisition.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
