RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-381

A resolution requesting the Central Business Improvement District, the Downtown Partnership, The District, the Mayor’s Office, and the Department of Public Works to establish a program to provide for the display of appropriate holiday decorations and banners during the holiday season of the year 2000 and in the future.

WHEREAS, to enhance the beauty of Downtown Nashville in the central business district, and to promote a festive holiday atmosphere, it is fitting and appropriate that a program be established to provide for the display of holiday decorations and banners to be erected for this year’s holiday season and in the future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Central Business Improvement District, the Downtown Partnership, The District, the Mayor’s Office, and the Department of Public Works establish a program to provide for the display of appropriate holiday decorations and banners during the holiday season of the year 2000 and in the future.

SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk shall send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Central Business Improvement District, to the members of the Downtown Partnership, to the Mayor, and to the Director of the Department of Public Works.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO.1

 TO

 RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-381

Mr. President:

I move to amend Resolution RS2000-381 to require the named entities to meet, to be inclusive in their deliberations of the holiday season, and to report back to the Council within 30 days of the adoption of this Resolution.
