RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-365

A resolution requesting the Mayor, MDHA, Airport Authority, Board of Education, NES, MTA and all departments, agencies, boards, and commissions, and any other agencies that receive funds from Metropolitan Government of the Metropolitan Government employ residents of Davidson County.

                        WHEREAS, it is in best interest of Metropolitan Government that employees that work for the Metropolitan Government reside in Davidson County; and

                        WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council request each department to consider hiring only residents of Davidson County.

                        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

                        Section 1.      The Metropolitan County Council hereby requests the Mayor, MDHA, Airport Authority, Board of Education, NES, MTA and all departments, agencies, boards, and commissions, and any other agencies that receive funds from Metropolitan Government employ residents of Davidson County.

                        Section 2.      That the Metropolitan Clerk is requested to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Mayor, MDHA, Airport Authority, Board of Education, NES, MTA and each department director of the Metropolitan Government.

                        Section 3.      This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
