RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-351

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claim of Lawrence Starkey against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for an amount not to exceed $5,062 and directing that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Whereas, on April 30, 2000, Floyd Murrell, an employee of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Fire Department, while operating a vehicle owned by the Metropolitan Government was involved in an accident which caused damage to claimant’s property; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that this claim be compromised and settled and that this amount be paid for the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Lawrence Starkey for an amount not to exceed $5,062, and that said amount should be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
