RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-348

A resolution authorizing a contract between The Tennessee Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to install a traffic signal(s) at the intersection of SR-11, Nolensville Road and Barnes Road, electricity and maintenance of said signal(s) to be furnished by Metropolitan Government, Contract No. 2000414.

Whereas, The Department of Transportation of the State of Tennessee, hereinafter called "State" has tentatively allocated certain funds under Local Programs Number 2552, for traffic signal(s) at the intersection of SR-11, Nolensville Road and Barnes Road, in the area of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, hereinafter called "Metro"; and

Whereas, installation of said traffic signal(s) has been approved by the Metropolitan Traffic and Parking Commission; and

Whereas, Metro, in recognition of the benefits to be received from the installation of said traffic signal(s) is to provide electricity and maintenance to said signal(s); and

Whereas, TCA §§ 12-9-101 et seq. authorize local governments to enter into such agreements upon approval of the local government by resolution,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the Contract between the State and the Metropolitan Government concerning LP No. 2552, installations of traffic signal(s) at the intersection of SR-11, Nolensville Road and Barnes Road, be and the same is hereby accepted by the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
