RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-341

A resolution approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), with a local match within the existing department budget.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission, has awarded Grant No. Z-01-100221-00 in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), with a local match within the existing department budget, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission for general operating support; and

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws §2.112.040(G) allows the Metropolitan Arts Commission to accept funds from other arts organizations by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission, for administrative support, in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), with a local match within the existing department budget, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
