RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-336
A Resolution requesting Werthan Packaging, Inc. and Pace International Union to use their best efforts to resolve their current labor disputes.
WHEREAS, employees of Werthan Packaging, Inc., represented by Pace International Labor Union, and Werthan Packaging, Inc. continued to be involved in a continuing labor dispute; and
WHEREAS, Werthan Packaging, Inc. and the Werthan family have made a significant contribution to the welfare of the residents of Metropolitan Government for many years; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Metropolitan Government and its residents to have resolved the current labor dispute between Werthan Packaging, Inc. and Pace International Union to promote better labor relationships within the area of Metropolitan Government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby requests that Werthan Packaging, Inc. and Pace International Union use their best efforts to resolve their current labor disputes and to promote better labor relations within the area of Metropolitan Government.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Chief Executive Officer of Werthan Packaging, Inc. and the local head of Pace International Union.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
