Resolution No. RS2000-327

A resolution recognizing Mr. Wayne Bass.

WHEREAS, at the age of five Mr. Wayne Bass made his debut racing go carts; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bass got his first taste of professional racecar driving from a friend in 1989; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bass, enjoyed the thrill of driving that he proceeded to build his own racecar beginning his career in the 1990 racing season; and

WHEREAS, never flamboyant and a man of sterling character, and despite a racing career spanning eleven years, Mr. Bass has earned over fifteen first place victories; and

WHEREAS, his career highlights as a race car driver include: top ten finishes in every race in 2000, and his best finish of the 2000 racing season was a second place finish on July 15, 2000; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bass racecar is sponsored by Vic Lineweaver, Acorn Radiator, Hudgins Moving and Storage, Ron Hunter of Hunter Marine and Ewing Bass Garage and Transmission; and

WHEREAS, endowed with an independent and entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Bass owns and operates his own business Ewing Bass Garage and Transmission; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bass is a devoted family man has enjoyed the love and has a commitment to his business and love of racing; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Mr. Wayne Bass.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mr. Wayne Bass.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Wayne Bass.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
