Resolution No. RS2000-324

A resolution recognizing Jack London upon his retirement from service with the General Session Courts.

WHEREAS, in July of 2000, Mr. Jack London retired after completing ten years of faithful service in the General Session Court of the Metropolitan Government; and

WHEREAS, Mr. London was hired in 1999, when he accepted a court officer position with General Sessions Judge Les Mondelli, were he continued to lend his knowledge and services to his son Mike Mondelli when he succeeded his father that same year; and

WHEREAS, Mr. London served as a member of the Metropolitan Council from 1983 to 1987; and

WHEREAS, Mr. London had a twenty year affiliation with Meharry Medical College where he served as coordinator of the hospital’s sickle cell center; and

WHEREAS, Mr. London has been a truly dedicated public servant, and it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Jack London for his service to his colleagues and citizens of Nashville and Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Jack London upon his retirement from service with the General Session Courts.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Jack London.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
