Resolution No. RS2000-320

A resolution recognizing Representative Robb Robinson upon his retirement from the State Legislature.

WHEREAS, on Tuesday, November 7, 2000, Tennessee House Representative Robb Robinson will retire from the State Legislature after fourteen years of faithful and dedicated service to his colleagues and the citizens of Davison County; and

WHEREAS, not only is Representative Robinson a lawmaker, but a veteran of World War II, president of Hermitage Explosives Corporation and Phillips-Robinson Company; and

WHEREAS, Representative Robinson served as Tennessee House Representative for the 51st District, Chair of the Transportation Tennessee House Standing Committee, Finance, Ways and Means, Calendar and Rules committees; and a member of the Special License Plates Tennessee House Subcommittee; and

WHEREAS, Representative Robinson is actively involved in the community as a member of the Al Menah Shrine, Jere Baxter Masonic Lodge 742, East Nashville Exchange Club, American Legion, the Nashville, Madison, Donelson-Hermitage and Old Hickory Chambers of Commerce, former president of the Madison Civic Club, and past president and founder of the Tennessee Gasoline Dealers Association; and

WHEREAS, Representative Robinson is also the recipient of the National Award for Buckle Up America; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Representative Robb Robinson on his outstanding work ethics.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Robb Robinson upon his retirement from the State Legislature.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Representative Robb Robinson.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
