RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-303
A resolution approving the amendment of the contract between the State and the Sheriff's Department terminating the current agreement on June 30, 2000, instead of June 30, 2002.
WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a four-year Grant commencing in fiscal year 1998 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Davidson County Sheriffs Office for the use and benefit of the Davidson County day reporting program and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (No. 098-1378); and
WHEREAS, the original term date was from July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2002 and the State of Tennessee wishes to terminate the grant on June 30, 2000; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 098-1378 provides that amendments to the Grant may be approved by Resolution by the Metropolitan Council;
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson county:
Section 1. That the Amendment to Grant No. Z-99-088176.00 by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Davidson County Sheriffs Office for the use and benefit of the Davidson County day reporting program which amendment terminates the grant on June 30, 2000, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
