RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-294
A resolution ratifying a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of the Interior Geological Survey for a program of Water Resources Investigation.
Whereas, The United States Department of Interior Geological Survey has tentatively allocated certain funds for a program of Water Resources Investigation in the area of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and
Whereas, The Cooperative Program of Water Resources Investigation requires that the United States Department of Interior Survey and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to each provide fifty percent (50%) of the cost; and
Whereas, Section 2 of Ordinance No. O90-1384 authorizes the Metropolitan County Mayor to execute future agreements for the implementation and completion of this project, which agreement shall become binding on the Metropolitan Government upon ratification by Resolution of the Metropolitan County Council.
Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson county:
Section 1. That the agreement for Water Resources Investigation between The United States Department of Interior Geological Survey and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is hereby ratified by the adoption of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the attached Agreement for Water Resources Investigation.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
