Resolution No. RS2000-281

A resolution approving a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Gary R. Colbath, Jr., Attorney At Law, for legal services in an amount not to exceed $1,000.00.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Law has the responsibility to represent the interests of certain defendants in a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court, District of South Dakota, styled Willie Griffin v. Tomy Holdar, John Stiln, Security Agency, Greyhound Metro Bus Company, State of Tennessee, City of Nashville, Police Department, Docket No. CIV00-4070; and,

Whereas, no attorneys in the Metro Department of Law are admitted to practice in the State of South Dakota; and,

Whereas, the local federal rules of practice require local counsel for the entering of an appearance.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Gary R. Colbath, Jr., Attorney At Law, in an amount not to exceed to $1,000.00 for legal services, on an as needed basis, which contract is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
