RESOLUTON NO. RS2000-275
A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Mayor to consider taking steps to renegotiate the Economic Development Grant Agreement with Dell Computer Corporation.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government has entered into an Economic and Community Development Incentive Grant Agreement between the Metropolitan Government, the Industrial Development Board, and the Dell Computer Corporation providing for certain payments for capital reimbursement based upon the number of actual full-time employees employed by the Dell Computer Corporation within the area of the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, a number of Members of the Metropolitan Council believe that such Agreement should be renegotiated with the Dell Computer Corporation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Mayor to consider taking steps to renegotiate the Economic Development Grant Agreement with Dell Computer Corporation.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Metropolitan Mayor.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
