Resolution No. RS2000-271

A resolution recognizing Mr. Dan Bedell on being named "Soccer Volunteer of the Year".

WHEREAS, Mr. Dan Bedell, was named "Soccer Volunteer of the Year" by the Tennessee State Soccer Association; and

WHEREAS, Dan Bedell, a licensed coach with the Tennessee State Soccer Association as well as a licensed referee has been involved with the Harpeth Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) since the inception in 1988; and

WHERAS, in addition, he started the Harpeth Futbol Club (HFC) two years ago which meets the needs of children who wish to play a little more competitive soccer and play year round; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Dan Bedell, has served on the board for Harpeth Youth Soccer Association, currently serves as registrar, uniform director, referee assignor and team assignor, along with previously serving as commissioner; and

WHEREAS, not only did he play soccer in men’s leagues in Florida and Tennessee he has coached at all levels currently coaching two HFC teams and assistant coaches another; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Dan Bedell for his dedication, passion and love of the sport of soccer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mr. Dan Bedell on being named "Soccer Volunteer of the Year".

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of the Resolution to be presented to Mr. Dan Bedell.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
