Resolution No. RS2000-261
A resolution recognizing Larry W. Wells as Principal of Park Avenue Enhanced Option Elementary.
WHEREAS, Mr. Wells is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, earning his masters degree and education degree from George Peabody College; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wells began his distinguished career as an educator more than thirty years ago, as a teacher from 1967-1975, principal from 1975 to present, and has served as principal for Park Avenue Enhanced Option Elementary since 1999; and
WHEREAS, his colleagues at Park Avenue Enhanced Option Elementary respect and admire him for his dedication, hard work, enthusiasm and caring attitude; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wells is certified as both a principal and educator for grades K-9; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wells resides on the Board of Directors for St. Lukes Community Center, is accredited with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and has received several prestigious awards; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his love of education, he enjoys physical fitness, gardening and reading; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Larry W. Wells for his leadership in the Metropolitan Public School System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Larry W. Wells as Principal of Park Avenue Enhanced Option Elementary.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Larry W. Wells.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
