Resolution No. RS2000-258
A resolution recognizing Leslie F. Shechter upon her resignation from service with the Metropolitan Legal Department.
WHEREAS, on June 30, 2000, Leslie F. Shechter resigned from the Metropolitan Legal Department after six years of faithful service; and
WHEREAS, on May 16, 1994, Ms. Shechter, became an attorney with the Metropolitan Legal Department under the direction of Mr. James Murphy; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Shechter is a resident of Nashville, whose outstanding and selfless deeds of service have been beneficial to the Metropolitan Government as well as the community; and
WHEREAS, her accomplishments have included contributions to several publications, presentations to the Tennessee Municipal Attorneys Association CLE meetings and participating in several panel discussions; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career Ms. Shechter has provided leadership to her fellow colleagues, and has worked diligently on several major projects; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Shechter is involved in the League of Women Voters and the Jewish Community Center; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council honor Ms. Shechter for her outstanding work ethic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Leslie F. Shechter upon her resignation from service with the Metropolitan Legal Department.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a Resolution to be presented to Leslie F. Shechter.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
