RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-251

A resolution approving Amendment #2 to Grant Z-98-087978-00 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County increasing the grant amount to $13,883,317.00 for the provision of disaster assistance.

 Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has awarded Grant Number Z-98-087978-00 in an amount not to exceed six million eight hundred forty-seven thousand, seven hundred fifty-eight dollars and fifty cents ($6,847,758.50) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for disaster assistance, and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Substitute Bill No. 98-1329);

Whereas, pursuant to Resolution 99-1489, the Metropolitan Council approved Amendment # 1 to said Grant, which increased the total grant amount to eleven million nine hundred twenty-two thousand five hundred seventy-six dollars and fifty cents ($11,922,576.50);

Whereas, the parties wish to further amend the grant to increase the total grant amount from eleven million nine hundred twenty-two thousand five hundred seventy-six dollars and fifty cents ($11,922,576.50) to thirteen million eight hundred eighty three thousand three hundred and seventeen dollars ($13,883,317.00);

Whereas, Substitute Bill No. 98-1329 provided that amendments to the grant may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council that receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the grant contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That Amendment #2 to Grant No. Z-98-087978-00 between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which increases the grant amount from eleven million nine hundred twenty-two thousand five hundred seventy-six dollars and fifty cents ($11,922,576.50) to thirteen million eight hundred eighty three thousand three hundred and seventeen dollars ($13,883,317.00), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
