RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-215

A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Board of Public Education to give due consideration to providing for advertising on public school buses to generate revenue for the public school system.

WHEREAS, some boards of education within the state of Tennessee permit advertising on public school buses; and

WHEREAS, any reasonable method to provide additional funds for the Metropolitan Board of Public Education for the operating budget of the public school system should be explored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Board of Public Education to give due consideration to providing for advertising on public school buses to generate revenue for the public school system.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Metropolitan Board of Public Education.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
