RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-211

A resolution recognizing Donelson Christian Academy in winning the 2000 Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders competition.

WHEREAS, Donelson Christian Academy varsity cheerleaders traveled to Orlando, Florida on January 14, 2000, to compete in the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders National Championship; and

WHEREAS, Fellowship of Christian is the largest nationally recognized Christian cheerleading organization; and

WHEREAS, with seventy squads and over 2,000 cheerleaders competing from squads from Alaska to California, Donelson Christian Academy varsity cheerleaders were chosen the number one Fellowship of Christian cheerleading squad in the nation; and

WHEREAS, these outstanding cheerleaders are known for the jubilant, exciting, and exemplary manner in which they instill school spirit in members of the sports teams and spectators and for the entertaining routines which they perform at athletic events, pep rallies and during competitions; and

WHEREAS, the cheerleaders are directed by Coach Nancy Henrich, and squad the consists of Captain Sarah Wells, Morgan Boshart, Mandy Cooper, Courtney Fenwick, Ellen Norvell, Ashli Sutton, Jessica Teel, Jami Walraven, Randi Cornwell, Amber Kelly, Rachel Pomeroy, Bridget Shariat, Bethany Gant, Lisa Hicks, Megan Powell, Rachel Renshaw, Lauren Young, Autumn Blackburn, and Aimee Crick; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the Donelson Christian Academy varsity cheerleaders on this achievement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Donelson Christian Academy in winning the 2000 Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders competition.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Coach Nancy Henrich on behalf of the cheerleading squad.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
