RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-207
A resolution honoring Leadership Music on its 10th Anniversary.
WHEREAS, Leadership Music is a nonprofit organization created to facilitate communication between the many facets of the Nashville Music community; and
WHEREAS, the mission of Leadership Music is to create an in-depth discussion by leaders in the entertainment community about issues that effect the day-to-day operation of all of their businesses and the future of the Nashville Music Industry and to take a pro-active position in the identification of those issues; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Music was established in 1989 through the vision of its founding Council: Rick Blackburn, Tony Brown, Tom Collins, Bill Denny, Dale Franklin, Joe Galante, Bruce Hinton, Bill Ivey, Joe A. Moscheo, Jim Ed Norman, Tandy Rice and Roger Sovine; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Music has developed and thrived because of the inspired leadership of its two Executive Directors: the late Dale Franklin and Tabitha Daly; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Music is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with a special Leadership Conference on May 16, 2000; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Leadership Music for its many accomplishments over the past decade.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring Leadership Music on its 10th Anniversary.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff is requested to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Leadership Music.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
