RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-205

A resolution honoring Michelle Williams on receiving the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications "Employee of the Year" and the "Rose Clark Award" for 1999.

WHEREAS, Ms. Williams received "Employee of the Year" for her outstanding work and dedication; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Williams received the 1999 "Rose Clark Award" from the Metropolitan Police Department when answering a call involving a shooting along with many other accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, the "Rose Clark Award" is named in honor of Mrs. Rose Clark who worked 34 years as a Metropolitan Police Dispatcher before retiring in 1990; and

WHEREAS, the "Rose Clark Award" will have an extra special meaning this year after Ms. Clark's recent passing in January 2000 at the age of 85; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Williams has been a member of the Metropolitan Police Department, serving in the Communications Division since November of 1994, where she services a vital role in the handling and prioritizing of emergency and non-emergency calls; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council hereby goes on honoring Michelle Williams for her outstanding contributions with the 9-1-1- Emergency Communications of the Metropolitan Police Department.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring Michelle Williams on receiving "Employee of the Year" and the "Rose Clark Award" for 1999.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to Michelle Williams.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
