RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-155

A resolution honoring Jeff Browning upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Planning Commission.

WHEREAS, on Thursday, January 6, 2000, Jeff Browning retired from the Metropolitan Planning Commission of the Metropolitan Government after fifteen years of dedicated and faithful service; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Browning has dedicated the past fifteen years to help shape Nashville’s growth; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Browning experienced enormous growth from everything to roads, subdivisions and a new stadium and arena; and

WHEREAS, during his career Mr. Browning presided over a massive reworking of Metro’s twenty-five year old zoning code; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Browning has been a truly dedicated public servant and it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Mr. Browning for his service to the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring Jeff Browning upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Planning Commission.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a printed scroll to be presented to Jeff Browning.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
