RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-132

A resolution proclaiming Friday, February 11, 2000, as Tennessee Titans Fan Day.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Titans National Football League (NFL) Football Team has enjoyed unparalleled franchise success with winning the American Football Conference Championship (AFC) game on Sunday, January 23, 2000, in Jacksonville Florida; and

WHEREAS, fans of the Tennessee Titans have shown tremendous and historic support, both at home games and on the road during this football season; and

WHEREAS, the excitement created by the success of the Tennessee Titans and the participation by the fans of the Tennessee Titans have served to join all segments of the Nashville community together in support of our team; and

WHEREAS, in order to acknowledge this support it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan County Council declare Friday, February 11, 2000, as Tennessee Titans Fan Day.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby declares Friday, February 11, 2000, as Tennessee Titans Fan Day and encourages all of the residents of the area of the Metropolitan Government to show their colors and show their support of the Tennessee Titans by wearing Titan clothing and paraphernalia on Tennessee Titans Fan Day.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as expressing its support of the Tennessee Titans and its appreciation for the support of our team by all of its wonderful fans.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
