RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-117

A resolution approving a grant agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and The State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to implement phase two of an automated collision database and analysis system project.

Whereas, at the present time the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County ("the Metropolitan Government") does not have an effective computerized collision analysis system; and

Whereas, by Ordinance O98-1432, the Metropolitan Government entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation ("the State"), providing funding for phase one of a project to develop the necessary database for such a system; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government and the State desire to enter into a further grant agreement providing funds in an amount not to exceed $131,250.00 to continue the project and to enhance and improve the existing data collection, analysis and reporting software; and

Whereas, Ordinance O98-1432 provided that future contracts or agreements related to development of the automated collision database and analysis system project would require the approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: The grant agreement attached hereto is approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said grant.

Section 2 : That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
