RESOLUTION NO. RS2000-101
A resolution honoring Dr. & Mrs. James H. Brown, Sr.
WHEREAS, Dr. & Mrs. James H. Brown, Sr., are distinguished residents of Nashville, Tennessee, whose outstanding and selfless deeds of service are benefiting the entire community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. & Mrs. James H. Brown, Sr., received the Harold & Mary Love Family of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, November 19, 1999, this award was presented to Dr. & Mrs. James H. Brown, Sr., at the 25th Anniversary Legislative Retreat and Training Conference during the A.W. Willis, Jr., Awards Banquet; and
WHEREAS, this award exemplifies your extraordinary leadership, sacrifices, accomplishments and service to the city of Nashville and State of Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, the Browns have been vital to the progress of African Americans and disadvantaged citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council hereby goes on honoring the Browns for their outstanding contributions individually and collectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring Dr. & Mrs. James H. Brown, Sr. on winning the Harold & Mary Love Family of the Year Award.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to Dr. & Mrs. James H. Brown, Sr.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
