SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION NO. SR99-1377

A substitute resolution honoring the Tennessee State University "Tigers" Football Team for winning the 1998 Ohio Valley Conference championship.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee State University "Tigers" Football Team recently completed an outstanding season by winning the Ohio Valley Conference championship; and

WHEREAS, the team was led by Coach L. C. Cole; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council honor Tennessee State University's "Tigers" Football Team for their outstanding achievements in 1998.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan Council goes on record as honoring Tennessee State University "Tigers" Football Team for winning the 1998 Ohio Valley Conference championship.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is requested to prepare a certificate to be presented to the Coach and to Tennessee State University "Tigers" Football Team.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
