RESOLUTION NO. R99-1665

A resolution honoring paralegals and proclaiming Friday, September 24, 1999, as "Paralegal Day" in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, paralegals have become an integral part of the delivery of legal services in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County desires to honor the contribution made by paralegals; and

WHEREAS, the Middle Tennessee Paralegal Association ("MTPA") promotes the use, education, and fraternity of paralegals; and

WHEREAS, MTPA will hold its annual Fall Education Seminar on Friday, September 24, 1999;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby proclaims that Friday, September 24, 1999, shall be known in Nashville and Davidson County as "Paralegal Day."

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council recognizes the contributions made by paralegals in the delivery of quality, affordable legal services.

SECTION 3. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to representatives of the Middle Tennessee Paralegal Association.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
