RESOLUTION NO. R99-1655

A resolution approving an amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement (Hospital Authority) authorized by the Metropolitan Council in Substitute Resolution No. R99-1413 allowing the Metropolitan Government to ask the Hospital Authority to perform additional duties for which the funding for the Hospital Authority will be increased.

Whereas, all positions and personnel assigned to the Health Services Certification division of the Department of Social Services shall be transferred to Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital in accordance with O99-1809 which provides that the services of certifying persons as indigent will transfer to the Hospital Authority; and

Whereas, the funding for these positions in the amount of $130,099 will also be transferred to the Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Intergovernmental Agreement (Hospital Authority) between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Hospital Authority of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, section (1)(d)(I)(B), is amended by permitting the Metropolitan Government to request the Hospital Authority to perform additional services for which the Metropolitan Government will compensate the Hospital Authority, a copy of said amendment is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan County Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2. That from and after the execution and delivery of the documents approved herein the officers of the Metropolitan Government or any of them, are authorized, empowered and directed to do all such acts specifically transferring the sum of $130,099 from the budget of the Metropolitan Social Services to the Hospital Authority and things and to execute all such documents as may be necessary to carry out and comply with the provisions of the documents approved herein.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
