RESOLUTION NO. R99-1624

A resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit a Letter of Intent to accept a grant award from the Tennessee Department of Children's Services to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for participation in the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services has accepted applications for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program; and

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Metropolitan Juvenile Court is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

Whereas, it is required that the Letter of Intent to accept the allocation of four hundred forty one thousand three hundred eighty-one dollars ($441,381) be approved by resolution, motion, or similar act of the applicant’s governing body; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Letter of Intent be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by The Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to submit a Letter of Intent to accept the allocation of four hundred forty one thousand three hundred eighty-one dollars ($441,381) for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That funds for any required match of dollars received shall be provided through the budget of the Juvenile Court.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
