RESOLUTION NO. R99-1588
A resolution approving a letter of agreement awarding fifteen thousand dollars between the Americans for the Arts and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission to subsidize a portion of the local research costs of the National and Local Profiles of Cultural Support Research Study.
Whereas, the Americans for the Arts has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission to subsidize a portion of the local research costs of the National and Local Profiles of Cultural Support Research Study; and,
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this letter of agreement be approved.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1: That the letter of agreement awarding fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) from the Americans for the Arts to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission to subsidize a portion of the local research costs for the National and Local Profiles of Cultural Support Research Study, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2: That amendments to the letter of agreement referenced herein shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
