RESOLUTION NO. R99-1586

A resolution approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through The Metropolitan Board of Health for the Healthy Start Program.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Health Department, has awarded a grant for July 1, 1999 to June 30, 2000 in an amount not to exceed four hundred forty two thousand eight hundred dollars ($442,800) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Health to provide the Healthy Start Program; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Health Department and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide the Healthy Start Program, in an amount not to exceed four hundred forty two thousand eight hundred dollars ($442,800) a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby accepted, and the Director of Health is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
