RESOLUTION NO. R99-1573

A resolution setting a public hearing on the Central State Redevelopment Plan.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency desires to redevelop the area around and including the abandoned Middle Tennessee Mental Health Property; and

WHEREAS, the project is to be undertaken by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency in accordance with and in furtherance of the objectives of Section 13-20-201 through 216, Tennessee Code Annotated; and

WHEREAS, Section 13-20-203, Tennessee Code Annotated, requires a public hearing on any redevelopment plan prior to final approval being given by the Metropolitan Council; and

WHEREAS, the proposed plan will be referred by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to the Metropolitan Council for its review and approval; and

WHEREAS, a legal notice stating the date, time and place of said public hearing must be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the locality where the project is situated.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That, at the meeting of the Metropolitan Council to be held on Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. in the Metropolitan Council Chamber on the second floor of the Courthouse, the Council shall conduct a public hearing relative to approval of the Central State Redevelopment Plan in the manner required by law, at which hearing any person or organization desiring to be heard regarding the proposed plan amendments will be afforded such an opportunity.

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk be and is hereby directed to have published in The Tennessean being a newspaper of general circulation in Nashville, Tennessee, in the issues of June 18 and 25 and July 2, 1999, a legal notice declaring a public hearing will be held at the time and place aforesaid in the manner prescribed by law after approval of said legal notice by the Metropolitan Attorney.

Section 3. That the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency be and is hereby authorized and directed to give written notice of the public hearing to at least one of the owners or at least one of the occupants of each parcel of property within the area affected by the proposed plans, as required by law.

Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
