RESOLUTION NO. R99-1561

A resolution recognizing Mr. Robert L. Sadler upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System.

WHEREAS, on May 29, 1999, Mr. Robert L. Sadler will retire after completing 32 years of dedicated and faithful service with the Metropolitan Public School System; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Sadler began his career in education as a Teacher at Norman Binkley Elementary School, and in 1970 he was appointed Principal of Donelson Elementary School where he served for two years, and thereafter until his retirement he has served as Principal at Granbery Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure Mr. Sadler came to know and befriend at least two generations of students as they received their education at Granbery Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, throughout his career Mr. Sadler was known for his dedicated public service to the school system, for being a tireless aide to the administration and to the faculty, and for being a trusted friend and confidant to parents, faculty and students; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Mr. Robert L. Sadler upon his retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as honoring Mr. Robert L. Sadler upon his retirement from service following 32 years of dedicated service for the Metropolitan Public School System.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to Mr. Robert L Sadler a retirement reception on Sunday, May 23, 1999.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
