RESOLUTION NO. R99-1554

A resolution appropriating one million forty-five thousand eight hundred forty-six dollars ($1,045,846) from increased revenue source to the Sheriff account no. 30108000.502201 and appropriating five hundred ninety-seven thousand two hundred twenty dollars ($597,220) from the unappropriated fund balance of the general fund of the General Services District to account no. 30108100.502201 for payment for housing inmates at the Deberry CCA facility.

Whereas, additional funds are required to pay for the increased inmate population at the Deberry CCA facility; and

Whereas, additional funds are available from the State Department of Corrections as the state withholds ten percent of all billings pending the final annual cost settlement for housing locally sentenced felons; and

Whereas, such additional revenue still leaves a budget shortfall, due to costs incurred from an increased jail population, of five hundred ninety-seven thousand two hundred twenty dollars ($597,220), and the Metropolitan Council desires to appropriate that amount from the unappropriated fund balance of the general fund of the General Services District.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville And Davidson County.

Section 1. That the following sum is hereby appropriated from the General Fund of the General Services District to the account listed below which is in addition to those contained in the current operating budget:

Section 2. That the above additional appropriation is to be funded from the following source.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
