RESOLUTION NO. R99-1552

A resolution appropriating $30,000 in Community Development Block Grant Funds for a Safety and Security Program and for installation of Neighborhood Watch signs for the Fern Avenue Neighborhood Strategy Area.

WHEREAS, applications for the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth years of the Community Development Block Grant program were approved by the Metropolitan Council through Ordinance Nos. O97-995 and O98-1428; and

WHEREAS, the applications for the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth years included funds allocated to the Fern Avenue Neighborhood Strategy Area; and

WHEREAS, a portion of these funds in the amount of $30,000 has been recommended by the citizens of the Fern Avenue Neighborhood Strategy Area to be used for a Safety and Security Program and for the installation of Neighborhood Watch signs in the Fern Avenue Neighborhood Strategy Area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That $30,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated to the Fern Avenue Neighborhood Strategy Area be appropriated for a Safety and Security Program and for the installation of Neighborhood Watch signs in the Fern Avenue Neighborhood Strategy Area.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
