RESOLUTION NO. R99-1544

A resolution requesting the Audit Committee of the Metropolitan Council to audit the Council’s infrastructure program administered by the Department of Public Works.

WHEREAS, during the past four years there have been three separate infrastructure programs wherein certain funds have been allocated for infrastructure improvements in each of the 35 councilmanic districts as may be approved by the district Council member; and

WHEREAS, requests for information on the status of such projects, their costs, and whether or not they were designated by the district Council member, is not available in any satisfactory form for the members of Council when they make inquiries; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that this program be audited to determine compliance with the guidelines set forth in the creation of these appropriations and programs.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Audit Committee of the Metropolitan Council to audit the Council infrastructure program administered by the Department of Public Works.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Vice-Mayor.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
