RESOLUTION NO. R99-1522

A resolution commending the Nashville Predators on their highly successful inaugural season.

WHEREAS, the Nashville Predators NHL Hockey team has just completed its inaugural season in Nashville, Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, this expansion team played with confidence, competitive spirit, and true heart, resulting in an exciting and entertaining season for all fans; and

WHEREAS, the Nashville Predators organization has been most supportive of the Nashville community in promoting the introduction of this new major league sport; and

WHEREAS, the owners, coaches, administrative staff and players have become a vital part of our community and have conducted themselves in such a manner as to set a high standard and example for professional teams and athletes; and

WHEREAS, this successful inaugural season of the Nashville Predators has brought honor to Nashville and has established Nashville as a successful big-league city.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as commending the Nashville Predators on their highly successful inaugural season.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Nashville Predators.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
