RESOLUTION NO. R99-1507
A resolution requesting the Tennessee State Department of Transportation not to eliminate ramps at the intersection of Briley Parkway and Ellington Parkway during the Briley Parkway Expansion Project.
WHEREAS, present plans which are part of the expansion project to widen Briley Parkway provides for the elimination of several existing ramps at the intersection of Briley Parkway, Ellington Parkway, and Briarville/Graycroft Roads; and
WHEREAS, the elimination of these existing ramps will increase emergency vehicle response time in transporting persons from the Inglewood area to the new hospital being built on Dickerson Pike; and
WHEREAS, the elimination of these ramps will contribute to traffic congestion and increase traffic in the Inglewood and Madison areas; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that these existing ramps be maintained or improved to provide for more adequate traffic flow.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Tennessee State Department of Transportation not to eliminate existing ramps at the intersection of Briley Parkway and Ellington Parkway during the Briley Parkway Expansion Project.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Commissioner of the Tennessee State Department of Transportation.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
