RESOLUTION NO. R99-1489
A resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to Grant Z-98-087978-00 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson county for the provision of disaster assistance.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, has awarded Grant Number Z-98-087978-00 in an amount not to exceed six million eight hundred forty-seven thousand, seven hundred fifty-eight dollars and fifty cents ($6,847,758.50) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for disaster assistance, and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Substitute Bill No. 98-1329); and
Whereas, the grant was subject to the execution of an amendment thereto removing DSR 03708 in the amount of twenty four thousand six hundred thirty-five dollars ($24,635.00), DSR 03737 in the amount of one hundred seventy-five thousand two hundred seventy-four dollars ($175,274.00) and DSR 03738 in the amount of six thousand four hundred thirty-eight dollars ($6,438.00) reducing the total grant by two hundred six thousand three hundred forty-seven dollars ($206,347.00) pending the outcome of the Metropolitan Government's appeal to the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and
Whereas, in addition to the removal of DSRs 03708, DSR 03737 and DSR 03738, the parties also wish to amend said grant contract by removing DSR 90382 in the amount of nine thousand seven hundred fifty-eight dollars ($9,758.00) and adding the following DSRs: DSR 63388 in the amount of twenty two thousand seven hundred sixty-two dollars ($22,762.00), DSR 63389 in the amount of five million five hundred eighty-one thousand one hundred eighty-one dollars ($5,581,181.00), DSR 63387 in the amount of two hundred fifty-nine thousand two hundred thirty-eight dollars ($259,238.00) and DSR 63390 in the amount of one hundred twenty-three thousand two hundred eighty-one dollars ($123,281.00), increasing the total grant amount to eleven million nine hundred twenty-two thousand five hundred seventy-six dollars and fifty cents ($11,922,576.50), and
Whereas, Substitute Bill No. 98-1329 provided that amendments to the grant may be approved by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council that receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes; and
Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the grant contract be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That Amendment #1 to Grant No. Z-98-087978-00 between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which removes the following DSRs: DSR 03708 in the amount of twenty four thousand six hundred thirty-five dollars ($24,635.00), DSR 03737 in the amount of one hundred seventy-five thousand two hundred seventy-four dollars ($175,274.00), DSR 03738 in the amount of six thousand four hundred thirty-eight dollars ($6,438.00) and DSR 90382 in the amount of nine thousand seven hundred fifty-eight dollars ($9,758.00) and adds the following DSRs: DSR 63388 in the amount of twenty two thousand seven hundred sixty-two dollars ($22,762.00), DSR 63389 in the amount of five million five hundred eighty-one thousand one hundred eighty-one dollars ($5,581,181), DSR 63387 in the amount of two hundred fifty-nine thousand two hundred thirty-eight dollars ($259,238.00) and DSR 63390 in the amount of one hundred twenty-three thousand two hundred eighty-one dollars ($123,281.00) and increases the total grant amount to eleven million nine hundred twenty-two thousand five hundred seventy-six dollars and fifty cents ($11,922,576.50), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
