RESOLUTION NO. R99-1488

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant between the State of Tennessee, Department of Corrections to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts for the implementation of a supervision and day reporting center.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Corrections, has awarded an annual Grant for fiscal year 1999 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the State Trial Courts for the implementation of a supervision and day reporting center and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. 098-1451); and

Whereas, the State of Tennessee wishes to increase the grant amount by sixteen thousand four hundred ninety dollars ($16,490) making the grant award total two million three hundred seventy three thousand, six hundred thirty eight dollars ($2,373,638); and

Whereas, Bill No. 098-1451 provided that amendments to the Grant may be approved by Resolution by the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty one affirmative votes;

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Amendment to Grant No. Z-99-089187-00 by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Corrections and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the State Trial Courts for the implementation of a supervision and day reporting center which amendment increases the grant amount by sixteen thousand four hundred ninety dollars ($16,490) making the grant award total two million three hundred seventy three thousand, six hundred thirty eight dollars ($2,373,638), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
